Monroe Shine College Scholarships
At Monroe Shine, we believe that investing in the next generation of accounting professionals begins with empowering students through access to quality education. Our scholarship programs reflect our long-standing commitment to supporting aspiring CPAs by removing financial barriers and recognizing academic excellence. Monroe Shine has established multiple scholarships at regional universities to help high-achieving students take the next step toward a successful career in public accounting.


Indiana University Scholarships
Monroe Shine has established scholarships at Indiana University in the amount of $10,000 each for up to 5 outstanding directly admitted freshmen every year to the Kelley School who are pursuing undergraduate majors in accounting and who have graduated from high schools located in specific Indiana and Kentucky counties. These scholarships are renewable if the recipient remains in good academic standing.
- Scholarship Name: Monroe Shine and Co., Inc. Fund Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: $10,000 each for up to 5 students every year
- Renewable: The Monroe Shine and Co., Inc. Fund Scholarship is renewable each year if the recipient remains in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Purpose of Scholarship: This Endowment fund was established to support outstanding directly admitted freshmen to the Kelley School who are pursuing undergraduate majors in accounting who have graduated from high school located in Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Scott or Washington in Indiana; Jefferson or Oldham in Kentucky.

Indiana University Southeast Scholarships
Monroe Shine has established scholarships at Indiana University Southeast in the amount of $7,500 each for up to 5 undergraduate students every year concentrating in accounting, who have plans to work with a local or regional public accounting firm upon graduation. These scholarships are renewable if the recipient remains in good academic standing.
- Scholarship Name: Monroe Shine and Co., Inc. IU Southeast Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: $7,500 each for up to 5 students every year
- Renewable: The Monroe Shine and Co., Inc. IU Southeast Scholarship is renewable each year if the recipient remains in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
- Purpose of Scholarship: This Endowment fund was established to support students enrolled at Indiana University Southeast and from counties included in the Indiana University Southeast service area. These scholarships are awarded to juniors and seniors concentrating in accounting, who have plans to work with a local or regional public accounting firm upon graduation.
- Application Process/More Information: The number and recipient(s) of the scholarship are determined by a committee comprised of the Dean of the School of Business at IU Southeast, the Chairman of the Accounting Department at IU Southeast, and two members of the firm of Monroe Shine & Co., Inc. University of Louisville Scholarships
Monroe Shine has established a scholarship at the University of Louisville in the amount of $500 for an undergraduate majoring in accountancy in the College of Business who is an Indiana resident. Preference is given to residents of Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties.
- Scholarship Name: Monroe Shine and Co., Inc. CPAs Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: $500
- Purpose of Scholarship: Supports a scholarship at the University of Louisville for an undergraduate majoring in accountancy in the College of Business who is an Indiana resident with preference is given to residents of Clark, Floyd, and Harrison counties.
- Application Process/More Information: Applications open in January, are due March 15th, scholarship decisions are made in June, award letters are mailed by July, and the ceremony is typically held in September. Bellarmine University Scholarships
Monroe Shine has established two different scholarships at Bellarmine University in the amounts of $5,000 for 1 undergraduate student and a second scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for 1 undergraduate student. Both scholarships provide financial aid to students studying accounting.
- Scholarship Name: W. Michael Larkin ’62 Endowed Accounting Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: $5,000 for 1 undergraduate student every year
- Renewable: This scholarship is renewable if the recipient remains in good academic standing
- Purpose of Scholarship: This Endowment supports a scholarship for an undergraduate student studying accounting.
